If you suspect an oil pump problem, connect a gauge to the pump gauge port it should read at least 100psig.
The burner is not made by the same people who made your furnace or boiler.
 Very important: If the burner is tripping the safety please try to determine the exact point in time it is doing so. Is it because the burner doesn't fire at all, is it the next time around or does it do it while it is firing? If while firing please check the photocell.
Please never forget the heat comes from the fire produced by the burner and not the thermostat on the wall.
I cannot over emphasize that in order to solve this you must determine when "When" is. A few seconds can make the difference between solving the problem or replacing good parts repeatedly.
The most common mistake while solving gas burner problems is mistaking a malfunction for a completed cycle. The same can happen with oil burners.
