I recommend the nationwide
chains Grainger
or Johnstone
as a source of parts. However before Sept. 11 2001 it was difficult to
get parts in some parts of the country. Georgia seems to be one of the
worst offenders even though some of the nicest people seem to come from
there. Now it has become impossible without selling your first born.
I have also discovered that most supply houses sell their
share of parts to the state and federal governments and I can't help but
wonder if it is done to keep them in line. Since this may become
a major problem we will start selling and shipping parts soon (see below).
In fact
Mr. Forest Grauel
of Perfect Service and Modifications in Burtonsville Maryland has many
odd motors for sale as well as an Ice
Rink Refrigeration System. He can be reached at 301-384-0100 10 am
to 10 pm Eastern time.
If you would like to order parts from
us we would be happy to ship to you once we work out the details. You can
fax an order with part numbers and description to 301-384-7243 Please include
a phone number and shipping address. We can take a fax of a personal check
as payment. We are not set up yet to take credit cards but if someone has
any suggestions as to how we can do that it would be helpful.
Items will be shipped by UPS "Ground" unless specified
otherwise.
Please include a description of any parts and parts numbers
if available
Here in Maryland on US Rt. 1 between Washington DC and
Baltimore We are blessed with more supply houses than anywhere else in
the state.
In Maryland we have Aireco

well as general heating and air conditioning needs. Scotsman ice machine
dealer. If they don't have it they can usually get it by the next day.
Located on US Rt. 1 and Pautuxent Range road Jessup.
301-776-0400
R.E Michel Bristol
Ct. off of Pautuxent Range road in Jessup Maryland, headquarters in Glen
Burnie. Sells Coleman/York and lots of duct work pieces and fittings. I
go there any time I need pieces of sheet metal as well as a good selection
of motors and other controls. They have a huge selection of oil heating
products including replacement parts and accessories.
They also sell the Unico High velocity Air Conditioning
system.
You will have to set up an account with them to buy from
the stores, it is worth having.
Hours: until 4:30 pm.
If you are not a contractor and want
to buy your own equipment you can have good equipment drop shipped to you
from the local distributor by contacting the Air
Conditioning Exchange aircondex.com .
I was sent these links for Coleman Evcon parts. Keep
in mind that Coleman is now part of York which includes Frasier Johnston,
Luxair, and Air Pro. Johnstone
supply is a distributor for this Family of equipment.
Hi,
I am sending a few of the sites that seem
to have Coleman/Evcon:
Also United Products in Baltimore Maryland Formerly a
Carrier dealer. Sells York, Coleman. Did sell Crystal Tips ice machines
now they sell Cornelious. To get parts for Crystal tips in Maryland contact
Nelco of Laurel Maryland. Just about every HVAC supply house sells ice
machines of a particular brand.
Boiler other industrial heating supplies:
The Boiler Store and R&J supply both in Hyatsville
Md.
Defrost and Fan control modules. International
Controls and ModulesICM
of Syracuse NY. makes an arsenal of after market controls that are much
more reasonable that the OEM. They even make the defrost boards for Goodman
and I suspect some others.
If you need a board for Carrier/ Bryant they start
at $100 and go up for OEM while ICM
has them for a lot less. So they don't copy the OEM they make a few minor
wiring changes that will not be a problem.
Specialty Thermostats PS&G(graphics
heavy), Home of the Accustat and duct limiter. They also make some
very fancy thermostats with remote sensors and occupancy sensors as well.
If you want something tamper proof look at this line of controls.
Out of our area, here are some links to parts, more added
as I check them out:
Spa support
and spapartsnet.com/ The best site(s) I have found for finding parts or anything
else you may need.
Blower: usually a squirrel cage centrifugal air moving device. Will move
large volumes of air relatively quiet. Will use less energy with more back
pressure.
Fan: a paddle type air moving device used where noise is not a major consideration.
Will use more energy with more back pressure.
Combustion blower: A blower used on high efficiency gas furnaces or oil
burners to move combustion air. usually 1/20 to 1/6 horsepower.
OEM: Original equipment manufacturer.
Horsepower: 746 watts
RPM: revolutions per minute.
Service factor: the extent to which a motor can be safely overloaded beyond
its name plate ratting without over heating.
Air over horsepower: The rating of a motor assuming air flow through the
windings usually as a result of the air moving device.
SAE: Society of Automotive Engineers.
High efficiency furnace: Furnace that uses over 85% of the energy in the
gas.
Condensing furnace: Gas furnace that uses over 92% of the energy in the
gas and condenses the gas into liquid condensate and hot air. If your furnace
has PVC pipe venting it then you have a condensing furnace.
