Y2K

What is Y2K and how can I prepare for it?

The Millenium bug, aka Y2K, could affect many systems throughout the world. But the most important ones are the electric power grid and the railroad system that delivers coal to fuel the power plants. Simply speaking, if the power grid goes down for a week in January nothing will work. There will be no gasoline, diesel fuel, or propane from the local gas stations; stores will be closed; food will not be avaliable, pipes will freeze, and most important there will not be any water to drink.

G&S Mechanical Services, along with other contractors that we know, can help make sure that your pipes and your family don't freeze, that you can keep electrically powered devices powered, and most important, you will have drinking water when all the munincipal water tanks have been drained. While we normally just repair heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. We have extensive knowlege of solar, wind, wood, backup battery power, and can keep things going in an emergency, and indefinitly, without electricity from the power grid.
